Krista Haglund

Vice President of Clinical Pharmacy

Daiya Healthcare, a multi-specialty post-acute and long-term care medical group, named Krista
Haglund as their Vice President of Clinical Pharmacy. Krista graduated from the University of
Washington where she obtained a Certificate in Geriatric Pharmacy Practice and went on to complete a
General Medicine Residency at the VA in Portland, OR. Krista brings 20 years of clinical pharmacy
experience. She has spent the last 11 years as a consultant pharmacist for skilled nursing and senior
living communities. She is proficient in CMS regulations and geriatric medicine.
Krista is passionate and committed to helping our geriatric population. In her new role, Krista will
provide education and training and education, with an emphasis on reduction of polypharmacy by
deprescribing medications, minimizing psychotropics, optimizing therapies, medication reconciliation,
transition of care, decreasing hospital readmissions, and decreasing med pass times for nursing. She will
also collaborate with facility consultant pharmacists to help streamline medication management and
improve cost savings. “I believe in taking a patient-centered approach when reviewing and optimizing a
resident’s medication regimen. It is important to help advocate for our seniors as many are on
unnecessary medications, medications that can cause confusion and falls, and medications that are a
high risk for the population. I look forward to working with our dynamic Daiya healthcare team to
achieve these goals.”
In Krista’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two black labs, Cooper and
Keira. She stays active by working out regularly doing kickboxing and sculpt classes. She also loves
fishing and traveling to any sunny destination.
